I don’t write from the finish line.
I write from the road.

I spent twenty-two years in the United States Army, twelve of them as a Green Beret. For a long time, that uniform gave me a pretty clear answer to the question of who I was. Then I took it off.

I thought the hardest battles would be behind me. Instead, they just changed shape. Identity, marriage, fatherhood, pride, forgiveness, faith, and learning when to hold on and when to surrender.

Along the way, I found myself back around the things that had always made sense to me: horses, big country, hard work, good people, and eventually, putting pen to paper. My faith in Jesus became less about something I said I believed and more about learning how to actually live it.

That’s where much of what you’ll find here comes from.

The books, the journal, the stories, and the things I’m building all come from a life that’s still being worked on.

I’m not here because I’ve figured it all out. I’m still on the road, same as you. If something I’ve learned along the way helps you become a better husband, father, leader, friend, or man of God, then it’s worth sharing.
